The craziest member of the A-Team, "Howling Mad" Murdock resided in a military mental hospital for most of his time and it wasn't hard to see why. Running through different personalities like a hot knife through butter, and talking randomly to objects and things that did not exist, most notable was his invisible dog, Billy. However, despite his inconsistencies, Murdock was a top class pilot. He'd fly anything and fly it well. He also took part in helping Face with some of the cons they needed to pull. For being "crazy" he was an essential part to the team.

Dwight Schultz acted in theatre exclusively for more than ten years before appearing in his first TV roles. His first feature film role was in "The Fan", in which he played the part of the director. It was only a small role, but within 2 years he was auditioning for the role of Murdock in the A-Team, a show that he originally thought was implausible. After reading the script he quickly changed his mind, instantly loving the character of Murdock. Dwight worked on the A-Team for all five seasons. Since then his most notable appearances have come courtesy of Star Trek (both The Next Generation and Voyager) as the recurring character Lieutanant Reginald Barclay III, and a guest apperance in Stargate: SG1.
